Types of Jobs

In our market we have a large range of substrates. Though our coating can be applied to any of them and be warranted for 25 years, we tend to see more of brick, hardi plank, cement board, block and wood. But it can also be applied to stucco, eifs, metal, aluminum, stone, etc.

Brick Houses and Buildings

In DFW, there are a lot of brick homes and buildings and though there are some very nice advantages of owning one, there are also some disadvantages. Since 40% of our jobs involve coating brick, here are some things to consider.

Brick homes and buildings in general are more expensive, more desirable and have a higher resale value. However, with that said, brick can also really date a house depending on its color. Also in Texas, we all know that a lot of homes and buildings shift and move due to the soil. Horizontal and vertical cracks can also take place causing even more problems in that water can get through all the cracks, as well as insects. Also bricks are porous which means that they can absorb moisture causing them to deteriorate.

So now what are your options to update your house? For every house that has been painted with regular paint you need to know of some issues that our customers have told us about.

Brick is porous and needs to breathe in order to be able to cool and warm your house effectively. Since regular paint does not breathe, you are taking away your brick from heating and cooling making it much less energy efficient.

Since our coating is breathable, not only is your brick still able to cool and heat the way that it’s supposed to, we are adding a 6.9 R-factor to your home to help insulate your home and reduce your energy cost.

Another issue with regular paint is that it tends not to hold up very well in extreme heat. As we all know, our summer days can get over 110 degrees and with our product having a reflective coating built into it, you will not have to worry about it getting too hot. Our coating stays much cooler. Regular paint will fade out a lot over a short period of time while Rhino Shield is composed of 79% solids and has special pigments along with automotive grade titanium dioxide(Tio2), meaning our colors are engineered to last.

A lot of times I am asked if we spray or roll our product on. We do both. Even though our product is 8-10 times thicker than regular paint, we still understand the importance of filling in every single opening, crevice, crack, and hole to ensure the best coverage and protection. Once our coating has been applied, your home will become much easier to clean. Imagine having a brand new looking home with a 25 year warranty.

Trim

We also have customers that only want their trim (soffit/fascia) along with any wood wall sections coated and nothing else. Imagine finally getting it coated once and for all and not ever having to worry about it again. We can also coat gutters and downspouts along with back patio ceilings.

Our trim job customers are very important to us and we take a lot of care in masking off and protecting everything that is not to be coated. If there are any areas that need to be repaired or replaced, our crews are more than capable of repairing it for you.
